    Day Off!

Today is Sunday and we're off!  The laundry is just about done, I've unpacked a few more boxes, Dave has had some well-deserved bike time, and I'm about to go start our dinner.

I finally had a chance to take a few pics of our new surroundings and have posted them on the site.  Interestingly, my camera seems to enjoy being in a warmer climate and has been working just fine.  YAY!  Funny how subzero temperatures will affect so many things.

Dave decreed that we deserved a treat, so we went out for Mexican food straight after work yesterday.  Man oh man...my taste buds are happy to be home in Texas!  We had heard about a restaurant called El Paseo and oh my gosh was it yummy.  Absolute heaven.  It was so cute...Dave commented several times how hot the salsa was...yep, darlin', you're in Texas now!  Teehee!  We ran a couple of errands after our meal and then were home to enjoy a nice evening of pool in our cozy residence.

That's about all I have for now.  Lots still to do, but I'm just going to enjoy preparing our evening meal and chill out the rest of this evening, 'cause it's back to work in the morning!

    Peace!

    Think I'd Gone MIA?

Just checking in to say I've not gone missing.  We arrived here in Keller and our new workplace/home almost (wow!) three weeks ago.  We hit the ground running and have barely had time to catch our breath.

Although we are still living amongst boxes, our residence is taking shape a little more each day.  Today was a great day, as we got our personal Internet set up.  HOORAY!!

I hope to have time to take and post some photos of our new world soon.  It's a nice facility and our residence is quite pleasant.  We really feel fortunate to have landed here; the facility, again, is nice, our residence is located inside the gates, and we even have a wee courtyard outside our back door.  It needs some TLC and is mostly dirt right now but there are grass runners which hopefully will spread and we are planning to fence in the one remaining open side in the not too distant future.  That will give us some privacy and Baby-dog a place to go out w/o the leash.

The job has been challenging in that we are learning the ropes and making the place "our own."  We are getting a daily routine down bit by bit; Dave spends most of his days outdoors maintaining the units/trucks and I am in the office,   We are having fun with the job and everyone we have met - customers, folks in town, delivery people - has been nice and very welcoming.

Well gee, of course they have...it's TEXAS!

It's so wonderful to be working together...Dave has his tasks and I have mine but we're here at the site together.  So sweet to know he's just outside somewhere and not toiling away in a mine, suffering, miles away or even staying in some other town because of work.  We're truly partners in every sense of the word and it's very comforting and fun.

We experienced our first Texas thunderstorm yesterday since being back.  I had not seen lightning in a long, long time and Dave has rarely seen it.  We stood outside for a wee while and watched the storm roll in.  I have missed Texas storms.

Well, it's getting close to time to take Baby out for her last stroll, hit the shower, and then crawl under the covers.

Just thought I'd give a wee update and announce I'm still alive.  Till next time!
