    A Sister Found Again

Last weekend I was reunited with a long-time girlfriend.  We went through junior and senior high together and have kept in touch over the years mainly by email.  Can't remember the last time we had talked on the phone.   As a result of life changes we have both experienced, we have been back in touch...and talked on the phone for over an hour last weekend.

Even though our friendship was silent the last year or so, we talked with each other like no time had passed...like we lived right down the street from each other and saw each other all the time.  In fact, our bond is stronger than ever.  It was such a heart-filling experience and I am so grateful for not only her, but the other friends - women and men - in my life.

True jewels in one's life are one's friends...for a woman, this is specially true of her women friends...her sisters.

My Mom always told me to try and nurture my friendships with women...men, jobs, houses - may come and go, but your women friends will be with you all your life.   I'm finding that to be true.

So if there's someone you've been meaning to call...pick up the phone.  Don't put it off...life is short....

Thanks, Sister, for being in my life and sharing yours with me.

I think of another dear Sister friend whom I haven't heard from in some time.  She has been on my mind lately...hope she is okay...I think I'll give her a call...

    Peace, all.

    March Marches On

This month certainly is cruising by swiftly.  Hard to believe there is only one entry for February but, then again, we have been working 7 days a week for a while now.  Our relief manager suddenly went MIA/AWOL.  We are perplexed and extremely disappointed.  Here we are again with three weekend plans cancelled, including our scheduled trip to San Antonio over the coming Easter weekend.  I really do not understand the work ethic (or lack thereof) that seems to be so prelevant these days.  We have hired a new relief manager and are hopeful she will be with us for quite some time.

If you've seen the most recent photos, you'll notice we have added a new member to our family!  A sweet, beautiful popup trailer!  We took delivery on her a week ago and "camped out" here at the facility this past Saturday night.  There is something about sleeping outdoors...that was the best rest I've had in ages.  I've been having a blast outfitting her...I am so very much my father's daughter.  She's just about packed and we plan to roll out this coming Saturday after work to spend our first "real" night down at the RV dealer's park...we get a free night and it's a good trial run.  The office is closed Sunday so we can at least get away for a night.   It will simply be a dry run at setting her up totally and there will be folks from the dealer at the park in case we have questions.

Like "What the HECK am I doing?"  HA!  We've had her up a couple of times here and it gets easier every time...one learns things each time.

We look forward to escaping for weekend/extended weekend trips around Texas this year....being in the outdoors, away from work, with friends new and old, and family.   I can't wait to show Dave some of the places in Texas which are special to me, as he did for me in Scotland.

Of course, my first trailer/camping outing took place when I was literally a babe in arms.  I believe it's in my blood...relatives on both sides were/are campers.   Dave has camped under canvas and under the stars, but never in a trailer of any type.  So...it's a whole new concept to him.  I've told him I'm gonna drag his hiney all over Texas now that we have a camper.  Fortunately, he thinks that's fine.

My dream before Dave entered my life was to at some point sell my property, get a fifth-wheel rig, and take my show on the road.   Now I get the best of both worlds....Dave and a camper!  Whoohoo!

Think I'll break this up into two sections tonight....stay tuned.
