    Busy Times

These days are busy ones.  We have been working 7 days a week for over a month with the exception of Easter Sunday, on which day our office was closed.  Needless to say, I am pretty darn tired and looking forward to some time off on a regular basis.  We have a new relief manager hired and hope he will be with us for a while.

Tempting Fate yet once again, we have scheduled a trip to San Antonio for next week, hooking on a couple of vacation days to our two days off during the week.   We will take our PUP with us and have reservations in what looks like a nice campground in SA.  This will be our first fun trip in Texas, for what I hope will be many over the years to show Dave my country!  So we'll be doing the typical sightseeing things in SA - the Alamo, River Walk, zoo, gardens, etc...some good Mexican food and most likely a few adult beverages here and there.   Chess games and hanging out at the campground in the evenings.  Aaaaahhhhh....heaven.

Goodness knows we need some time to recharge our batteries, both as individuals and as a couple.  It's a darn good thing we are so tight together - working together, doing almost everything together - or else we'd be at each other's throats.  None of that going on.  If nothing else, it seems to bring us closer.

After over two years of being together virtually 24/7, I still miss this man when I am away from him...whether for an hour or two or a day or two.   I never tire of his company and find comfort in his presence, during work hours knowing he is out on the lot somewhere or lying asleep beside me in the night.

I haven't spoken with the lads in Scotland in a while but continue to be honored to be a part of the Barnes clan and to be proud of both of them.  Ian and Rose are raising a fine wee lad and recent photos show him to be looking more like a little boy instead of a baby.  Paul is being sent by his company to India for a few weeks this summer to train personnel at their offices there.

Speaking of clans...that brings to mind kilts and tartans...yesterday was Tartan Day...in Scotland and here in The States.  In honor of that, we hung a Scottish flag and Dave's kilt in the office on display.  I wore my tartan scarf and we had oh-so-very Scottish music playing.  How many storage facilities can you enter and hear pipes and drums?  Probably not that many would be my guess.  We treated outselves to dinner at our local Chili's after work and what do you think?  Heading back to the truck afterwards, we ran into a gentleman headed towards Chili's wearing a kilt!   Synchronities!  We stopped and chatted with him for a few minutes.   It was pretty special.

There is a powwow in Georgetown this Saturday and, if I'm not too wasted after work, I may head over there for a little nourishing and renewing of my spirit.  See http://www.austinpowwow.org/sunativepowwow.htm

Well, kids, it's nearing my bedtime and I think I'll toddle off to the shower and then hit the blankies.

Peace and light to you and yours.
